Going through my posts after this and creating a “rainbow” category, since clearly I have a problem.
But what’s the problem with this Bake By Numbers Pie Plate? NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. Its charming, and useful, and charming and rainbow-y. What says Hostess Gift better than a traditional pie plate with an artsy twist? I’d cook you dinner for sure!
$38 at Anthropologie.

I love it when products are so smart, so well designed they make me giddy. It’s all I can do not to buy like 10 of these right now. A simple, genius solution to a major problem: how do you keep all those tiny toy pieces in one place?
Swoop Bags are both a storage container and playmat in one. I love the colors, the durability and the clean, utilitarian style. Best of all, it encourages kids to clean up after themselves, and keeps safe you from slicing your foot open on a transformer lego piece when you’re vacuuming. (Also, helps keep your dog’s intestines toy free – a feat to be sure if you have dogs!!)
Hoping Swoop will make smaller bags for puzzles and dolls soon, in which case I may very soon have a Swoop wall. Love it!

The Hus has lately been on what is now becoming an infamous roll of gifting literally the greatest presents ever…an iPad for my birthday, a gorgeous Coach bag for our anniversary, and for Mother’s Day this beautiful turquoise pendant. Why turquoise? It happens to be Evie’s “modern” birthstone! I can’t even begin to describe how thoughtful and perfect this present is. I’m not much of a sentimentalist and I’m never going to be that mom who wears photos of her kids around her neck; but this – this is so me. Simple, understated and a perfect way to keep thoughts of my daughter (and my husband) close to my heart. As if they’re ever far from my heart anyway!!
I never considered giving a mother the birthstone(s) of her children, but what a lovely idea. My mom would totally score – a necklace of diamonds and pearls. Maybe next year!

My mother has taught me many things. Everything, really. But among them are key tenants to style which I adhere to daily…Never skimp on make-up or facial care; always use eye cream; black never goes out of style; you can never have too much champagne. My mother also never EVER let me dress even the least bit inappropriately. My skirts were never to short, my shirts never to low, the fit never too tight. To this day I am grateful that while I have certainly had my share of fashion disasters, they have never embarrassed me personally. In the after-glow of Kate Middleton’s exemplary display of taste, class and style, we’ve seen proof that it is no small thing for a mother to pass both style and restraint to her daughter. A lesson which, I am sad to say, should be taught to a much greater degree to today’s young women.
Diatribe against every show on MTV aside, My Mom, Style Icon is lovely, just lovely. A perfect gift for any mother new or old; a great treat for yourself to remind you of your roots. The book was authored by Piper Weiss who penns a blog of the same theme.
Love you, Mom!

So the Tee family has a bit of an obsession with tea. (Yes, I get the joke.) But seriously, we drink a lot of the steeped leaf. Lots. While my pantry has quite a bit of space dedicated to a bunch of different varietals, the two we drink the most are PG Tips (the only proper black tea to drink, imho) and then Good Earth Sweet & Spicy Decaf every single night before we go to bed. Every. Single. Night.
We drink so much that the tea boxes usually end up sitting out on our counters throughout the week – neither of which are particularly design worthy…especially against the backdrop of my heinous pink kitchen. I just spotted this lovely little Tea Bag Dispenser, and I think it might be the perfect solution to my tea clutter problem. While it won’t hold PG Tips’ pyramid-shaped bags, it will contain our beloved Sweet & Spicy. And while I wish I could have clutter-free counters all-together, white ceramic looks good just about anywhere – even in a heinous pink kitchen. Plus, this would make a lovely gift, and look fabulous on a tray if you were hosting a proper tea with guests. Delightful!

Simple, gorgeous, functional; and just waiting for equally minimal toast soldiers to be dipped into a delectable egg.
Snag this Cara Egg Cup at Merchant No. 4.

Happy Spring!!! I’ve got sweet, fluffly rainbow-colored marshmallows on the brain today…
Don’t those Rose, Passion Fruit & Violet Marshmallows from Dean & Deluca look divine?
And I so love this UP! house created with Peeps:
Are you drooling over these handcrafted rainbow marshmallows by Have It Sweet? So cute!
These new book covers designed by illustrator and cartoonist Jillian Tamaki for Penguin Classics have literally left me speechless. The colors, the embroidery, the talent of Ms. Tamaki and the fact that these are THREE OF MY MOST FAVORITE BOOKS EVER!!
I can’t wait to get these for Evelynne. To me, this is exactly what the cover of The Secret Garden should be…a magical whimsical portal into a perfect, perfect book. And Emma and Black Beauty to boot? I’ve lost count how many times I’ve read all of these when I was a girl…
I love me some iPad, but for this family, paper books will always reign supreme.
Look for these lovelies to debut October 2011, and read all about her process and see some great “making of” pics on Jillian Tamaki’s blog.

I absolutely LOVE this idea for kids who are all about coloring! Pair one of these adorable (and affordable!) Colour-It-Yourself Posters by summersville with an amazing set of crayons, color pencils, markers or watercolors and let them make their own amazing-looking art for their room!
