I’ve been a big admirer of Alyson Fox’s work for a loooong time. First her drawings, then, well, everything else. This gal’s creativity knows no bounds. Naturally, I was excited and thrilled to see a set of lovely necklaces by Alyson Fox created for Of A Kind on sale today! I treated myself to the Neon Yellow Cluster necklace. Because you know how I love neon, and I’ve been looking for a brightly colored long strand for a while now. Frankly, if I didn’t have a 9 month old, and left the house more I’d probably have gotten all three, because they do look fantastic layered together. Alyson created 60 of each style for Of A Kind, so be sure to snag one soon if you’re smitten like me.

Just spotted OPI’s new collaboration with The Muppets, and besides the fact that they’re collaborating with The Muppets this new line of sparkly, glittery, rainbow-y nail polishes is downright fabulous. You can be sure my toes will be sporting some Rainbow Connection and Divine Swine this holiday season!
The 12 limited edition colors are set to hit stores in November. (via Styleite)

Sepia Beauty just launched a new jewelry site, and oh man does she have a good thing going! Maybe it’s because I’m a little cray-cray over neon lately, but these bold chunky necklaces are really calling out to me. (And affordably priced to boot.) Rope! Copper! Love it! Gonna keep an eye on this designer for sure.

I’m seriously gaga over neon this summer. Who isn’t? Neon (especially neon pink) looks good on everybody, and its just the bright shock of chip-cheeriness the world needs right now, if you ask me.
I’m also loving the delicate way neon is surfacing in more elemental areas of design and jewelry (especially kids jewelry! so cute!) vs. the bold statements we’re typically seeing in clothing and bags:

Plus: These Capretto Sandals by Miu Miu are fantastic, and in all the shades of neon I’m loving for summer.
Minus: I do believe they’re $550.

Still on bit of a clothes-shopping kick, and I’m loving these easy-breezy finds from Need Supply Co…
Giraffe Print Skirt, $44 / Triangle Espadrille, $28 / Bretelles Carreaux Tank, $100 / Belle Dot Print Headband, $19 / In The Fold Necklace, $45 / Striped Jammy Jam Tee, $68 / Brights Scarf, $24 / Wood Large Circle Necklace, $38 / Nyle Sandal, $58

So its 5.2 months in and super-spitty, reflux baby or not: I’ve had it up to here with wearing sweats & tee shirts. Yes, they’re easily washed; yes they cover up (and fit) the baby weight I’m still trying to loose; but let me tell you – wearing sweats or versions of sweats day in and day out is NOT good for the ego, people. It hasn’t helped that this winter was FRIGID, and it won’t. stop. raining. here in Denver, so right now I can’t wear a simple maxi skirt + tee shirt, even if I wanted to.
But that doesn’t mean a gal can’t dream. Though I am no gamine, I’ve spotted a few finds over at ASOS which I think could pass for good day-to-day mom clothes. Tops to pair well with my new Da-Nang cargo pant obsession, bottoms to coordinate with all…while still weathering grabs and pulls, playing on the floor, and spewings of precious bodily fluids.
And maybe tomorrow the sun will finally come out.

Top (from left): Pleated Trapeze Mini, $33 / Drop Waist Ruffle Detail Tunic, $65 / Warehouse Jersey Kaftan Dress, $55 / “&” Square Skinny Sleeve Top, $33 / G Star Chambray Shirt, $132 / Sketchy Floral Batwig Kimono, $83
Bottom (from left): Palazzo Pants, $74 / Slim Waistband Crop Pants, $65 / Stripe Midi Skirt, $55

The Hus has lately been on what is now becoming an infamous roll of gifting literally the greatest presents ever…an iPad for my birthday, a gorgeous Coach bag for our anniversary, and for Mother’s Day this beautiful turquoise pendant. Why turquoise? It happens to be Evie’s “modern” birthstone! I can’t even begin to describe how thoughtful and perfect this present is. I’m not much of a sentimentalist and I’m never going to be that mom who wears photos of her kids around her neck; but this – this is so me. Simple, understated and a perfect way to keep thoughts of my daughter (and my husband) close to my heart. As if they’re ever far from my heart anyway!!
I never considered giving a mother the birthstone(s) of her children, but what a lovely idea. My mom would totally score – a necklace of diamonds and pearls. Maybe next year!

But who in their right mind could resist these adorable tiny gold mocs by Trumpette?
Evie and I can be twins, because I just splurged on these gorgeous gold flats from Tory Burch!

I got married in bare feet. Not because I was trying to make some social statement, but because a) I don’t wear heels b) I couldn’t afford Louboutin’s or Jimmy Choos (and I don’t wear heels anyway) and c) generally speaking wedding shoes are lame.
Had Toms been around 9 years ago (NINE!) you can bet I would have been sporting a pair of these adorable shoes, plus more for all my gorgeous bridesmaids who did wear heels but would have surely appreciated these at the end of the evening.
(And I would have been making a nice social statement to boot!)
PS: Even lamer are prom shoes, but I don’t think you have to dye shoes to match your dress anymore. At least I hope not. Good lord I am getting old. Anyway, TOMS has a prom shoe section too. Love it. And I SO would have gone this route for the world’s most ridiculous teenage dance as well.
